I have dell latitude E7470 with windows 10. I have problem when I want to install dell dw5811e driver. I download latest software driver from dell support, run it and wait them to finish. Afterward software driver is configuring mobile broadband device, it always freezes at 37% with message "Fail error 82". I try with older version of software driver. It is still the same. Could anyone suggest how to resolve the problem.

Hi there! So I've been experiencing random freezes up to now and I don't know what causes them, usually it happens after sleep mode, ibernate mode or just simply starting the machine. The weird thing is, it doesn't happen when I'm gaming or anything that requires a lot of memory. I have run a hardware diagnostic but every test passed. I also experienced this the first day i got it, but i ignored it thinking it was just because of updates. Now the freezes are back and it is much more recurrent. My laptop is only a few months old. I keep updating BIOS everytime i can and it seems that it works but after 1 day or 2 maximum it happens again. I recently restore the system to the factory image and the problem persist, and even got slower.
What i usually do is to hard reset every time this happens. Can anyone please give me a solution for this?
I have Windows 10 Up to date, when it freezes up all the apps that i was using are closed as it nothing happened, i use my touchpad, and mouse, i dont have aditional hardware, i have Antivirus.
Ive notice that windows spotlight never works, but when it does it's when the screen freezes
I got a notification to update my BIOS from Dell and ran the Windows installer, hoping it would help with screen issues I've been having. Since then the system is unusable. I'm running Windows 10, setup says BIOS is version A11.
It is stuck in an "automatic repair" loop and I receive a "ACPI BIOS ERROR"
I've tried:
-booting to a USB with the BIOS file to try and flash it from there, but can't access the drive via F12
-booting Legacy as well as UEFI
-removing CMOS and laptop battery

My less than 2 year old (bought in December 2015) XPS 13 9350 has a noticeable bulge underneath the bottom left side of the keyboard that's also warping the trackpad. You can see it in the below photos. I'm worried that this is the battery and that it could explode or catch fire at any time.
What should I do about this?

I've had my beloved Dell Inspiron N7010 for 6 years. Since my warranty expired I've upgrade the RAM. My current graphics card is AMD Mobility Radeon HD 5000 Series. I'm not trained in computers per se, but I've done several repairs on various laptop/desktop models as necessary. I'm aware that I'd need to replace the mainboard in order to upgrade the graphics card.
What I need to know is how to find and order such a replacement as would work best with my laptop case. I understand most people would just buy a new laptop, and I do already own another laptop as my backup. However, I'd like to know what options I have available before I give up on my favorite trusty laptop.
It's not just a desire to upgrade, but also because the card seems to be glitching out more and more frequently. So please help!
I have a Precision M6500. It does not have any Hard Drives on it. BIOS is A04
Default BIOS setting has SATA at RAID.
I can change SATA = Disabled and it will boot to BIOS
I can change SATA = ATA and it will boot to BIOS
I change SATA = AHCI, it pretends to boot to BIOS but gives me blinking cursor. Aborting boot with F2 or F12 also gives blinking cursor.
I open back panel, remove CMOS battery, plug it back in again, laptop will boot up. Unfortunately it boots into SATA = RAID setting.
How the heck do I change it to AHCI so I can put a Hard Drive in start using the darn thing? I see I'm not the only one who has this problem of blinking cursor, however in my case, it is not random. It only happens after I change SATA = AHCI, not otherwise.
My Dell XPS 13 has recently been unable to recognize my AC adapter. I've tried several outlets and chargers, but to no avail. Once I plug the charger into the laptop, the charging light on my Dell lights up for a second but turns off immediately after.
I am unable to get past the Dell SupportAssist and it seems to be an endless loop that won't allow me into my desktop.
Would I be able to bypass the "AC Adapter Unknown" error by using Google's Pixel 2 charger? It would allow me to charge through Dell's USB-C port instead. Has anyone tried this method or has solved the issue in any other way?

My Dell Inspiron N5010 has Processor Speed 2.50Ghz but these days working on only 0.78 Ghz speed, No more than this. Why ? its too slow? How to speed it up? because it was not as slow as working these days.
I volunteered to buy the Dell 11.6 inches model above. I went to have a direct look at it and test it myself in one of the local electronic shops. The laptop was on display. As usual excellent build quality. Keyboard was smooth. Loved the colours (Red and Blue). Appreciate it. But there was a lag when I typed on MS word. This wasn't what I was expecting. May be a better processor could have helped on a budget laptop. Please help me on this.
My Dell 9550 XPS has developed an annoying fault. Every time the laptop wakes from sleep, the keyboard no longer works and needs a Restart for it to start working again. (The on-screen keywboard works, and also if I plug in an external USB keywboard, that works too)
I *think* it developed this problem after installing the Windows Creator update but not 100% sure.
Does anyone have any suggestions?

Yesterday i was working on my Dell Inspiron 15R 7520 SE laptop and suddenly laptop shutdown.
When i booted the laptop again, it again shutdown after few seconds.
Then, i thought that i was just a overheating issue so i disassembled my laptop and cleaned the cooling fan. But still facing the same issue, the laptop keeps shutting down after few seconds of startup...
Please tell me the solution regarding this problem..

So I have a Precision M6500 with the latest BIOS AFAIK - A10. I ran Diagnostics from the BIOS, both short and long. No issues encountered.
I have installed windows and then once again ran Dell Diagnostics from Dell website. Short Test fine. Long Test fine, except one problem reported - Video RAM for my NVidia Graphics. Suggested remedy is to replace the GPU. Right.
I searched for similar problems reported. In each case the poster also has symptom of No video. However, that's not my problem. My laptop seems to run fine with no screen artifacts. So question is - is something else causing Dell Diagnostics to report Video RAM issue? Even though I don't see issues right now, does it mean one fine day my GPU will simply go kaput?
I'm really stumped because laptop really running well and even GPU temperature is in limits.
After i completely dignosed the issue it seems to me that there are problems in BIOS, Drivers and thermal management as when I start playing a game (GTA 5, Battlefiels 1) i runs smooth for 5 minutes but after that i starts lagging and freezing. I have also run some benchmarks but results are similarly as there is the issue of cpu thermal throttling. And audio distortion is due to unstable and poor compatibility drives. In dell forms i read people saying that all this is caused due power management issues which i have also noticed as when CPU is idle is consumes around 20 watt at 50°C but when put under load it once reaches 50 watt of peak usage at 100°C but with in few seconds it thermal throttles and used only 15 watt at 80°C which is even less than idle speed which causes many problems and freezing also all with in few minutes of gaming or proper use. Many uses are facing same problems as i have read on reddit and dell community form but not all the systems are affected as the review units that some YouTube channels and Websites like Laptop Mag reviewed did not exibit such problems or otherwise the reviews are fake. I don't know why dell is not solving the issues and sending me the same problematic Laptop again for the third time.!!
Since I upgraded my display from VGA to the P2415Q I get (wireless) keyboard errors - keys get repeated when I'm not touching a keypad. It's as if the computer stops looking at the keyboard every now and then. Has anyone any idea how to deal with this? The keyboard is old - USB 2 I imagine - so I could try with a new one but maybe there is something smart I can do. Dell support were not entirely useful as they just started going through the update drivers litany even though I had done that and loaded - with some difficulty - Windows 10 Version 1703 (another story). Suggestions please!

I've bought a Dell Precision M6600 with 32GB RAM (Maximum supported until A15 bios firmware). Now I've have already updated to A16 bios firmware and now I can see that my laptop can support 64GB RAM.

I seem to have a problem with my "fan 1" lately. I started noticing that my system starts running very slowly under load to the point where even the audio is distorted. After further investigation i found out that my cpu was reaching up to 95°C, which is obviously way more than it should be. So i decided to run diagnostics which disnt give any errors. Then i took a look at the startup log, where i found the "fan malfunction error and error fan 1 stopped".
So i did the logical and updated all i could think of (drivers,bios,etc.). The weird thing is that i can hear the fan spinning almost all the time, but i am still getting temps. over 90°C.
I'd like to know if anyone else is experiencing this problem and how i could go about fixing it.

On the laptop does not work touchpad, on the forum wrote that helps to replace the motherboard! Is there really no other way to bring the touchpad driver to works?
In the "Device Manager" section, the touchpad has an error (10), it can not start!

Bought my laptop back in 2015, worked fine when connected to Dells website, detected my service tag and updated the configuration to show windows 8.1.
Now 2017 I reinstall windows 7 as Windows 8.1 and 10 just ***, constant driver issues so back to 7 i went. However no when I user Dell detect to get the drivers and diagnose my laptop the website keeps changing to German and It will not change back to English.
No idea why but Dell is somehow convinced my service tag is from Germany even saying my laptop came with the German keyboard ( It didn't) I even have the receipt from the original owner..bought in the UK.
So right now I can't even go to Dells website with my actual account since as soon as I log in it sticks to German. Also dell wont update the configuration to show windows 7
What can I do ? I cant contact dell as all support is in German, change it to English and my service tag doesn't exist.

I've been having an incredibly frustrating issue with my Latitude E7440. I believe that ever since I've upgraded to Windows 10, I have had issues with my Webcam and my microphone. From reading around the forums, I'm under the impression that it may be a motherboard/driver issue. However, I have on numerous occasions tried to install/reinstall drivers for both in order to fix the problem.
Issues:
Webcam:
Microsoft Camera App says it can't find my camera. The error code is 0xA00F4244(0xC00DABE0)
The webcam no longer appears in Device Manager, there is no imagine devices and as far as I can tell it is not anywhere in device manager at all. In other words, it's not being detected. I have attempted to manually try and install a new camera via control panel, but there is no option to install a webcam. I understand there are no separate Dell or other drivers for the webcam of the E7440 and they were originally microsoft drivers?
Microphone:
I have tried to uninstall/reinstall Realtek audio manager/realtek HD audio manager drivers numerous times and the microphone is not being detected. This used to work fine, but now it's just not appearing at all. In other words, it is not being recognised. I've tried all the tricks on the forums, in terms of "showing disabled/disconnected devices". My issue is nothing like that.
The problem is that when I open the sound devices, the internal/built-in microphone for my laptop is not being recognised. This used to work fine, and I suspect it's a motherboard issue. The only thing shown under Recording devices is "Jack Mic" (not plugged in) and "Stereo Mix". I'm able to record voice if I use an external microphone in the 3.5mm jack, but the internal microphone is no longer recognised (does not show up anywhere).
Under device manager "Sound, video and game controllers" only shows "Realtek Audio" and under "Audio inputs and outputs" device manager only shows "Speakers / Headphones (Realtek Audio)". I just don't understand where the microphone has gone. It's very frustrating.
I've attached a dump from Speccy with my system specifications. This is incredibly frustrating. I would be happy to reinstall an earlier version of windows if that is possible. I just really want the webcam/microphone functionality of my laptop back.
