okay, a few things,
1 i had written almost the whole reply when i hit a link and it deleted everything...
any way,
i had re booted it, and hit f12 and ran diagnosis.
it said my laptop was fine and prompted to continue running memory tests, i ran them
after they were done, it still said it was fine
so i started my laptop and i checked to see if i could do system restore, using a point that was made 3 days earlier.
i could not.
i also went into add/remove, and i could still not remove the virus package.
later int hat day, i ran a full scan using Microsoft security essentials.
after it was finished, it was still green.
i have one smart sneaky virus. -_-
before i did a scan, i ran the "setup windows backup" i ran that and put it on my external drive, about 112GB it used. after the long time of putting it on, windows gave me an error saying it was finished, but skipped a few files. i did nt touch the settings, i clicked "let windows decide what files..."
i have not noticed any changes with my settings. Yet.
it is very nerve racking to me though.
one thing i forgot to mention, this HDD is not the original drive.(for a laptop that's a Dell inspiron N5010) the original went belly up on me, i had opened lid from sleep, and tried to watch a video file, and it gave me some sort of blue screen error. I'm not sure this was back at the beginning of October. and so, the HDD was out of warranty, so i had to order a new one, complete with install disks.
so i had got windows and a drives disk and some other disk like program files. and i installed windows, and installed all the drivers. the laptop was running well, like the best i had ever seen it.
i not sure what to do from here,
if it starts to change settings, ill come back here, and see what you have said by then, but I'm sure i wont be able to get rid of it any other way than getting help from here.
see, my problem is, is that i am really good computer guy, i know how to do things, shortcuts, and stuff, the only thing i lack, is understanding coding. i have not looked into it, and every day, its starting to bug me, because i don't know how to code stuff, or read it.
i would like to avoid factory reset, as to re install updates and programs and drivers, takes about a week. I'm afraid i just dont really ahve the time to do that. perhaps i can wait until June 21st, when I'm done school
could you explain to me how the VHD files work? are they just like a type of .zip or .rar kind of package? those are the files windows made the backup with.
so i don't know, what to do now, Bryce
