Configuring a new hard drive - Dell Inspiron 15z

Hello, I recently bought a new hard drive for my Dell Inspiron 15z, after the one it had before malfunctioned. The Inspiron 15z comes with a mSATA card (32 GB) which is used entirely as cache memory, at least that's the way it was originally configured. Now, I'm trying to install Windows 8.1 from scratch and I'm having a couple of problems.

I've already installed Windows 8.1, but a couple of key features, i.e. Intel Rapid Start and Intel Rapid Storage, are not working, whenever I try to install either of them, it says "your computer does not meet the minimun requirements" or something like that, which makes me think that the way I configured the HDD / mSATA card during the OS installation was not adequate.

So my question is, how should I configure the HDD / mSATA card during the OS installation? Here's a screenshot of the Windows Setup menu:

Drive 0 (not formatted) is the mSATA card, while Drive 1 (not formatted) is the main HDD. How many partitions should I create on each drive? What should their size be? Once I've already configured both drives, do I need to do anything else to get them to work as they were originally intended to?

Is it more convenient to install the OS on the mSATA card? Should I then create two partitions so that what's left of storage space can be used as cache memory?

It's obvious that I'm no expert on this subject, so I'd be extremely grateful if you could provide me with a detailed explanation.
