Dell Inspiron 15 random shutdowns

Hello, 

I have been gifted a new Dell Inspiron 15, however when the laptop is moved, it will shutdown as a result. This problem has only surfaced recently and occurs on a random basis but when the problem occurs, the slightest movement or brushing of the device results in the shutdown. This problem was also accompanied by the battery indicator cycling between a standard battery indicator and a battery not found message. I have already attempted to clean the ports on the battery but this does not have any effect.
