I am in the market for a used Precision Laptop, and I am between the M6400 & M6600 (with M6500 being problematic)
Obviously my first choice is the M6600 but the price is still a bit on the peak of my budget, I am not gaming or doing much graphic designing however I will want to upgrade which ever one I buy with the best LCD panel I can.
I planned on installing a FHD(1920x1080) Dell UltraSharp™ display: wide view, anti-glare, LED-backlit LCD panel in the M6600 if I bought one.
However the M6400's can be had cheaply and I am wondering if it will cut it for me...I would install a WUXGA RGB LED Edge To Edge Back-Lit Display (1920x1200) Resolution which I am curious how far off in quality it is compared to the M6600s 1920x1080 UltraSharp display? As far as resolution is considered its higher than 1080 but I suppose not native 1080p resolution...I do not think the amount of GPU memory will matter to me my desktop workstation has dual Samsung 1080P LED monitors (1920x1080 native) running on an older ATI Radeon HD 2600 XT with 512mb of GPU ram and I am plenty happy with that using dual DVI outputs.
If I installed a 1066MHz quad-core with 12M that will hold my needs fine so it really comes down to the display upgradablity on the M6400
Any opinions?
