Re: Dell Inspiron 15R SE 7520 - mSATA connection?

Awesome! Thanks so much for a quick and totally clear answer.  I will order the daughter board as soon as I can verify the model number via the BIOS. I will pick up an SSD to put in the external enclosure...but 6GB might be overkill! I have no idea what a 6GB transfer speed SDD costs but I'm thinking 3GB will be fine. LOL!

I will get a SATA caddy for my optical drive and move the 1TB 5400 rpm drive there. OR

I also have a 7200 500 GB at home too. There's no problem moving the faster HDD to my laptop optical drive right?

I may USB the 5400 rpm 1 TB drive shipped in the 15R to my NAS. It might be nice to have a 2.5" external ready to travel as I have found myself in rural places without reliable internet access to my NAS at times. If I did that I can just connect it with an external eSATA cable right? Or would there be an issue with mapping the third HDD as an external?

Thanks for your help! It is so greatly appreciated.
