I am restoring my niece's Studio 1558. I restored windows 7 64 bit and installed drivers on resource cd in correct order. Laptop has a Intel wifi link 6250). When I installed the driver it also installed wiMax software. When I attempt to connect to internet wirelessly, a dialogue states that no wiMax connections available. It does show the regular wireless connections. The driver on the resource disk keeps installing the wimax feature with the driver with no option to prevent wimax from installing as well. I went to drivers and download page on Dell support page to download latest driver, R242648, but it does not install. I did follow installation instructions. Anyone know what might be the problem? I uninstalled wireless drivers, and in device manager, there is a yellow exclamation under "Other Devices," next to " Network Controller" (is the wireless driver I uninstalled) and "Microsoft ACPI-Compliant System" (which I have no idea what it is). Any feedback would be appreciated. There is no factory image on hard drive to revert to as it was formatted by my niece.
