I just received my M7710 with Windows 10 Pro 64-bit.
I'm having problems with the fingerprint reader from the very start. During fingerprint registration it frequent gave me a message to the effect 'unable to detect fingerprint and to clean the reader'. I eventually tapped the reader enough that it completed the registration process.
Of course the machine is brand new and it's the first time the reader has been touched by me. It looks clean.
When I try to login using the reader, the same general thing occurs. It doesn't recognize my fingerprint even after multiple attempts, and then finally either does or doesn't in the end.
So do I have a faulty reader? Is it a poor device I paid extra for? Am I doing something wrong when registering my fingerprint?
I'm simply putting my index finger on the reader, picking it up and putting it down again.
