I have the 7720 with Win 8 and was considering installing Win 7 until I found out how to restore the Win 7 Start Button. Win 8 has so many advanced hidden features that make it very very efficient that I would keep it. Things like super fast chkdsk utility, Windows Explorer with automatic refresh, background tasks that automatically reduce priority when you get the CPU busy so that your personal tasks have elevated priority. etc. etc. So many users without touch screen hate Win 8 that Microsoft is going to put it back in. Microsoft had it in the beta version but did the silly thing of removing at the last minute of release. Sales are of Win 8 are very disappointing and many new Win 8 users are downgrading to Win 7 so they are having second thoughts. I found a free third party source as follows that works extremely well in Desktop mode of Win 8. It is called Classic Shell at sourceforge.org, I believe. You can set it up to look like the Start Button on XP, Vista, or Win 7.Just make sure that you do a custom install and avoid all the bloatware that tries to go along with it. You can delete the bloatware after anyway. Downside is it adds extra time to boot-up phase but mSATA makes it seem negligible. Also Win 8 is guaranteed a 10 year support cycle but Win 7 may have only half the support time left since it has been out 5 years?
