Since the image on the external TV works fine, the issue might be with the LCD screen. You may try to move the LCD screen, check if the display show up fine at a certain angle.
Alternatively, you may try to reseat the LCD cable. Please refer to the manual http://bit.ly/12jN7Vb.
If the issue persists, the LCD might have to be replaced. If the system is in warranty, you may provide me the service tag of the computer and the name as it appears on the account via private message (click my username and then click Start Conversation) so that I can check the further course of action.
