Check the system by pressing the F2 key to turn wireless On or Off on the Inspiron N4010. Use Windows Mobility Center in the control panel to check the status of the wireless connection.
Open Device Manager by clicking the Start button , clicking Control Panel, clicking System and Maintenance, and then clicking Device Manager. If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
Un-install the wireless network adapter in the Device Manager.
Re-start the computer.
If the red X persists, update the wireless drivers by clicking on the link mentioned below. Select the correct operating system prior to downloading and installing the drivers: http://dell.to/13g7KfL
