2. Send it back under warranty.
3. Buy a better brand that doesn't leave their customers out in the cold!!!
I've been an XPS user since the very first XPS, then the XPS M170, Followed by an XPS 1710 and finally my XPS M1730. None no,... All of them had issues. My first XPS the 6800Ultra video card failed (Dell blamed Nvidia), The video card on my M170 7800GT failed (Dell blamed it on Nvidia). My M1710 went through 2 7900GTX video cards (Dell blamed it on Nvidia) The LCD died and was replaced w/ a substandard Piece of Crap LCD (under warranty), also the power port on the motherboard failed (once again covered under warranty > blamed on me!). And there were huge issues w/ the M1730 video cards and drivers. I got smart and sold it on ebay (for about a third of what I paid for it). If you add them all up I've spent over 10K dollars on Dells in the past 8 Years and for what? They get rich and I get crap computer > "paper weights"... !
I'm sorry but, until Dell can get their Support together I will: "Hold my nose and look the other way"!
P.S. I don't blame Terry B. Poor S.O.B. is trying to single handedly cover Dell's collective A$$!!! I'm sure he's moved on from this thread to newer models that have issues of their own.... -Davis
