I wrote this as feedback to DELL after reading this:
This is what I have to say:
A04 does not fix the problem of "character repeat". I've flashed to A04 several weeks ago and the problem persists. Interesting enough I've also noticed this problem with the previous XPS13 model that I owned, and on the DELL support forums I also found users of other XPSes that encounter the issue.
To illustrate my problem: this is with my bluetooth keyboard: asdfasdfasdfasdfasdfasdfasdfasdfasdfasdfasdfasdfasdf
This is with the XPS13 internal keyboard (after flashing to A04): asdfasdfasdfasdfasdffasdfasdffasdfasdfasdffasdffasdfasdf
Seriously this is unacceptable! Sure, it only happens when I type fast; and when I don't use an external keyboard. But this model is marketed as a DEVELOPER EDITION! Developers they type on keyboards for a living.
Major Heyden, who helped with Linux compatibility on the XPS13-2015, finally gave up on this machine. I don't know why exactly but I know that the keyboard really frustrated him too.
Once again: when making a developer edition latop, please make sure the keyboard works really well. The mechanical quality of the keyboard in the 2015 XPS13 is noticeably worse then the keyboard in the previous XPS13 edition.
Currently I'm in contact with the DELL support channel here in the Netherlands, but they seem to be oblivious of the fact that so many have already complained about this. They offer me to pick up the laptop and test, but all other victims of this issue say that this will not resolve the problem.
