Dell XPS 14 (L421X) MSata cache to ssd upgrade issue

I have a Dell XPS 14 that had a 32gb cache msata drive in it.  I disabled intel rapid start and replaced the 32gb chip with a Plextor 256gb (M5M) MSata chip.  I used software to shrink the drive and clone it down to fit onto the SSD but I can't get it to recognize in the bios.  When I hit F12 the only boot options I have are Windows boot manager (Hitachi drive) which im guessing is my 500gb traditional drive and 2 IP boot options.  I disabled secure boot and still cannot figure out why its not listed.  I can see it in the bios as installed and I can copy stuff to it in windows but its not listed in the bios.  I think this has to do with uefi but  I'm not sure, its been several years since my last build and we didn't have to worry about these things then.  Any ideas?

Thanks in advance.
