Dell XPS 12 touch pad MYSTERY: No driver, no software, no item in device manager, Cypress touch pad doesn't install anything. HELP!!!!

I have read many posts on Dell forums of users plagued by the touch pad on the XPS 12. One of my users is having a similar issue with the touchpad bouncing the cursor around and opening/closing applications. I am trying to turn down the sensitivity on the touch pad, as this has shown to work with other Dell models in our network but cannot find any settings anywhere for it.

The forum solutions say to install the latest driver for Cypress Touch pad off the Dell Drivers and Downloads page; I have done this numerous times and the software appears to install, I reboot, but then no software shows as installed in Programs and Features. The touch pad does not even show as an installed item in Device Manager. I am at a complete loss for where to go with this. Any help is greatly appreciated and thanks in advance.
