Hi all.
I'm in the US and bought a laptop from an eBay store in Canada.
The service tag doesn't allow me to get support through Dell but I can through the eBay seller for 1 year.
The specs on the laptop are as follows:
CPU - i7-4600U
RAM - 8GB
HDD - 256GB SSD
ALL TEMPS BELOW IN CELSIUS
I'm running into issues with the CPU temperature. Using software like Speccy I can see the motherboard temperature is staying cool (25 degrees) but the CPU has an idle temperature of about 56 degrees and gets up to 80+ degrees when doing nothing but basic office work.
I've ran Prime95 to see if the laptop would crash when put under full CPU load and it doesn't which I suppose is a good thing. The temp gets up to about 95 degrees and then the fans kick into high gear. This brings the temp down to about 83 or so.
Again, idle the CPU has a temp of about 56 degrees.
The eBay seller will take the laptop back to repair it but I'll be without a laptop for over a week. I need to know if these temperatures are normal for this CPU/laptop.
Any insight would be appreciated.
