DELL XPS L502X: 9Cell Battery in place of 6Cell Battery

I currently have a 6-cell battery on my Dell XPS L502X. I am planning to buy a new 9-cell battery for a extended battery life.

Can i do this? Will  a 9-cell battery fit in my laptop which currenlty has a 6-cell battery??

Technical Support Team said, Size will be bigger. I am little bit confused here. Can you please let me know if a 9-cell battery replace a 6-cell battery in my DELL XPS L502X.
