I have a 3-year old Dell Inspiron N5110 that won't turn on. I did all the suggestions from other forum posts, by verifying the power sources, making sure the AC adapter is good (the green light is on and stays on), charging up the battery, unplugging the power and battery and draining any excess power, etc so it's NOT my power sources.
When it push the power button there is absolutely NO sign of the computer wanting to start, no noise and no lights. The only thing I get is a quiet whistling noise. It happens when I push the power button when I have the AC unplugged trying to start up battery only; and also when I plug in the AC the whistle starts right away and continues until I unplug the cord it again.
Help me please! I have a TON of data on this laptop that's not backed up anywhere else.
