Hi, any help gratefully received...
Problem:
Chucked a hot sugary drink over my DELL XPS 17 L702X laptop (accidentally!)
Actions Taken:
Mopped up quickly and let Laptop dry out.
Initially Laptop booted and I managed to email 2 important documents to myself (must be more religious with my backups)
Laptop started making a whirring noise (Hard disk problem?)
Keyboard "interesting" and will need replacing
Rebooted laptop and get to Blue Boot Menu
Perform Diagnostics and get the warning (!) No Hard Drive Detected - all other tests (including memory) PASS
Have tried booting from my restore disc - but, unsurprisingly no Hard Drive Detected
Have removed Hard Drive and carefully and gently cleaned with cotton cloth
Replaced - same problem
Have tried Hard Disk in second HDD slot - same problem.
Next ?
Just in case you have not guessed, I am not a computer technician...
My plan is to buy a new Hard Disk (along with a Key Board)
Is there anything else I could try?
Are there any other things that may be wrong that I can check for now?
Is my plan to try a new Hard Disk reasonable ?
