I have an old model of Dell Inspiron that I bought about a year ago, everything was fine until I applied some window updates onto it. I have the same problem as in this post

I have read through the suggested solution in the post above but I can't use it for my laptop. I think the problem was that mine was an older model so that couldn't be applied.
As I powered on the laptop, I will get stuck in this screen
Can anyone help or give some suggestion? I'm a college student so buying a new laptop or doing any hardware replacement is nearly financial impossible for me. Thanks!
