Dell Inspiron 17R SE 7720 Windows 7, boots to black screen after hibernation or power on until after 8 minutes have passed. This happens every time, so I now leave the laptop powered up 24 hours a day.
After about 8 minutes of tries to boot, the laptop always boots to Windows without fail.
Nothing else is wrong with Laptop. All diags pass always. I did the "remove battery power off reset", booting to bios, booted to CD, plus all the recommended remedies for "booting to black screen issues". All updates are applied, The Bios is up to date. I put in a brand new battery. I reinstalled Windows 7.
The laptop is several years old, Is this a bad Bios battery or bad boot memory? Keep in mind all diags pass always.
