My inspiron 17R died the other day and so i had to get a new motherboard from Dell. Now it won't boot from the hard drive. The pre assessment test (FN key) says all is OK. I've tried running the dell recovery tool and it copies all the data off but then crashes. If I boot from a Windows CD the repair option doesn't work but I can get a command prompt and access the drive. I've tried bootrec at the command prompt but still not working? Don't know what to try next. Any ideas?
