I've had my Inspiron 14R 5421 for a little over a year. On the left side there is about 1/16" thick plastic above the Ethernet port, which cracked after about 9 month. It wasn't much of a problem until recently. If I put too much pressure on the front left side, or suspend it from the front, it causes a short, shuts it down and reboots. Very frustrating.
Now when I shut it down the power light (far left light of the 4 lights on front edge) stays on and drains the battery unless I hold the power button down for about 5 seconds until it shuts off. fully. It won't let me power up until I power down via this procedure. Also very frustrating.
Any other experiences out there with this and anyone whose tried to have it repaired?
