Hello,
I have a Dell XPS 13 L321x running Windows 7 Home 64-bit. If I am watching videos, or doing anything which requires a bit of constant CPU work, my laptop freezes, flashes a blue screen for half a second, then shuts down.
It attempts to re-start automatically, but is not successful. It gives me the error message "Operation system not found." If I turn off the computer and let it sit for an hour or so, it boots right back up again without a problem.
What I have tried so far to fix the problem:
- I have upgraded to the latest BIOS A08. No difference.
- I have changed the CPU fan for a new one. No difference.
- I have run Dell's diagnostics which tested all the components (including the fan at max RPM, though that speed is never reached while the laptop is on). No issues found.
- I have backed up all my files and restored the OS to factory settings. No difference.
- I have taken off the heatsink, removed old thermal compound, put on thin layer of new high-end thermal compound, reattached heatsink. No difference.
- I have tried re-seating the SSD. Sometimes this helps boot the computer faster after shutdown, but over the long term, no difference.
Any help would be appreciated.
