It's been some days now that Windows 8.1 sent the KB3022345 Optional Update that caused corrupted files probably , it cannot be installed , it has fired up threads in many discussion groups and I am not sure if it causes the Error 2000:0142 Hard Drive 0-S/N Long Self Test Unsuccessful .
I have my Dell Inspiron 15 3542 functioning the hard drive performs as usual . There are no signs of failure .
Could it be that the hard drive test error is caused by some corrupted files ?
