I have read old posts for a week and just confuse myself. My Inspiron 1545 Laptop hard drive is going to fail. I thought Plug & Play DIY job until I started to read everything here. 500gbx5400rpm drive, simple $50 till I search amazon & others. I find plenty, but when reading purchaser reviews it appears some that are thought to be new are used. So I decide to spend $75-$80 with a direct purchase and get these crazy combinations that are compatible, WD500gbx7200rpm or WD1tbx5400rpm. How do you compare that? So out of frustration I go back to the Dell sight where the same variations are about $100. Or A 500gbx5400 is $129 which has got to be crazy compared to the $50 I thought I could get one for. This puts it the same as a 500gbx5400rpm Hybrid which if I am spending more anyways is a better deal in that size / speed range than the other Dell offerings. So do I just get the Hybrid from Dell? Can anyone make sense of this for me?
