The dell system detect app lists my laptop was a Mid 2013 Inspiron 15 (7537)

Graphics Card: Nvidia GeForce GT 750M
Screen Size: 15.6 inches
Weight: 5.61 lb
Screen Type: Widescreen
Native Resolution: 1920 x 1080
Graphics Memory: 2048
Storage Type: HDD, SSD
Rotation Speed: 5400 rpm + SSD

I had my cousin order one from Amazon in late 2014(November if I remember correctly). The display showed horizontal ripples that would randomly change in frequency. It is much easier to spot on darker or gray backgrounds. I reported the issue to Amazon and they were kind and wonderful enough to send me a replacement.

Turns out the replacement has the same issues. I assumed that it was software related so I waited for a software related fix. I've tried:

BIOS update
GPU drivers update
Chipset drivers updats

None of the above resolved the issue. I dual boot Linux and Windows 8.1, and I can confirm that the problem shows up in both operating systems. It also shows up in the BIOS/UEFI menu(although it's a bit difficult to spot at times.) The ripples are less visible when the screen brightness has been turned down.

I am still hoping that this is a software issue. I have coursework to do, I don't have the funds to get it repaired, nor can I afford to have this laptop be sent out to a service center for weeks or even days. There is work I have to get done.

I live in Trinidad and Tobago and I don't know if Dell warranty covers my region. I also replaced the 1TB hard drive with a 1TB SSD. I don't know if that will affect my warranty.

What are my options here?

Thanks in advance!
