I'am gonna quote it here, because i have same problem:
"
Hi everyone,
Got a strange issue here with a E6230 that I have not been able to find any solid solutions for.
The touchpad can sometimes start to behave erratically, usually after extended use. By this I mean that it works perfectly for an hour, two or sometimes more, then it stops registering input correctly. As an example, if I were to slowly drag my finger from left to right, there will be a spot somewhere in the middle where the cursor will jump 1-2cm on screen, even though speed and direction have been steady on the trackpad.
If I reboot the computer (last time I tested) the problem persists. If I shut down completely then start the computer, the problem has cleared itself and I can use the trackpad accurately for x hours again.
I have tried disable multitouch gestures and playing with various mouse options without any luck. Here is the setup:
- Windows 8.1 Professional x64
- E6230 bios A12 - currently latest
- Dell multitouch touchpad driver A05 - currently latest
- No external mice or other peripherals connected
The issue appears to be hardware related but it would be hard to fault for a tech without them using for an extended period.
It's not really a huge problem, more of an annoyance. It would be nice if someone out there has a magic fix though.
All assistance/thoughts on the matter are greatly appreciated.
Hartz."
