External Monitor won't work with E-Port Plus Docking

Hello fellow technicians,

here's my scenario:

I've got

an E-Port Plus Docking Station (I can't find a Service Tag on it, just the model number PR02X)

a Latitude E7450 (S-Tag: <ADMIN NOTE: Service tag removed per privacy policy>

and a P2715Q Monitor (S-Tag: <ADMIN NOTE: Service tag removed per privacy policy>)

I want to set up a workplace with this components but when i put the Notebook into the Docking, the Monitor won't show anything.

I changed the cable from miniDP - DP to DP-DP, I made sure that the right input channel on the Monitor is selected.

I made sure that the cables are plugged in correctly and also that the Notebook is docked in correclty. I downloaded and installed the driver for the Monitor. And yes, I checked, the Monitor is powered on.

I don't want to use the Notebook Screen as an additional Screen, just the external Monitor.

When I go to the Screen Resolution in Windows (8.1) it says, that both Screens are currently displayed on the internal Display -> when I hit "identify" it says on the Notebook Screen 1 | 2. When I hit "detect" it says that the second Monitor can't be detected correctly.

When I go to the Intel HD Graphics Settings, the external Monitor is picked on the dropdown menu on the left but I can't make any settings regarding this issue in this windows (just colors an resolutions and so on).

I already tried so many different Settings and none of them worked. Whith some Settings the internal Screen got black for a few seconds, nothing happened and there was the screen again. I think that this was the time where some seconds count down and Windows asks, whether you want to keep this settings or not. But the external Screen still showed nothing.

I already called Dell Support, but after they told me, that they can't help me if I don't want to replace the Monitor (it already has been replaced a few days ago, and with a normal Desktop PC it works fine) and they told me, that they would forward me to a Software technician. I waited for 10 minutes without any sound on the telephone, then I heard some background noises an after that i was kicked out of the line.... Frustrating.

Any ideas what my problem could be or how to fix it?

Thanks for your help!

Becky
