Inspiron 15R (5521, Late 2012) beeps every 4 sec but won't start

I had my laptop closed (sleeping)  for probably a week.  When I opened it everything started but I wasn't connected to the internet.   Wireless icon in task bar indicated I was connected to my router, but expanding wireless connections showed there was none available.  I decided to restart and it appeared to be shutting down but when screen went black it just started beeping every 3-4 secs.   I force shut it by holding down power key until it stopped.   Byt ow every time I turn it on it just beeps.

This machine has passed it's warranty period but really has had limited use.  A bit disappointing
