Slow Inspiron 15 3000 needs an SSD

Hi everyone, new member here :)

The Inspiron 3000 has served me very well and I am generally happy with the machine, however over the last couple of months it became extremely slow and is almost unresponsive at this point as soon as I fill the hard drive with around 100GB additional data (note that I need all the programs and additional files for work).

Since Avast couldn't find anything wrong with the files and formatting didn't make it any faster, I am looking into getting a new SSD. My question is, which model/brand should I go for?
Right now I'm looking at samsung SSDs, as I've heard only the best things about them on Apple forums, however, does that apply to Windows too, and most importantly my laptop?
