battery for dell latitude 6420

I bought a 97 Wh extended Li-Ion battery for my dell latitude 6420 but it is not recognizing the battery (currently has a standard 60 Wh Li-Ion battery (type T54 FJ, 11.1 V). Is there anything I can do or do I need to get the 60 Wh battery.
