Inspiron 14R N4110 Laptop extremely slow on startup, sometimes doesn't even boot up within 2 hours.

Recently I received this laptop from a friend to fix because Windows 7 Home Premium (x64) was not starting up. So I booted from a linux bootable usb drive to format the hard disk. I noticed that it took awhile to do everything, even starting up in the bootable OS it took more than 15 minutes to boot up. Installing windows, then starting up the computer and getting on Windows 7 again, all of these things took forever to load up. I installed drivers for the laptop, and then after all were installed, I installed windows updates. Then I left it sit over night. Then today, I came and saw that the computer went into sleep mode, which I found odd; so I turned it on and then it would sit at a blank screen. So I went out to breakfast thinking maybe its just doing registry update. When I came back this wasn't the case. So I turned off the computer by holding the power button. Turned it back on, and it took 30 minutes to get to the Windows starting... screen, then came back to the blank screen for hours. Now, I got Windows to load, I signed into the admin account, the mouse is showing, but the screen is still blank. I ran Dell Diagnostic, and it said that the hard disk was fine, which I thought would have been the issue. I restarted the computer about 2 times trying to install the first driver for the wifi, and it only took about 4 minutes. It seems after I installed windows updates, the whole computer just started to become unresponsive to windows. If you could help me it would be greatly appreciated.
