Re: Red LED Accent Lights

Hi Trey,

Yes your Dell XPS M1710 should have accent LED's. It should be present on the speaker grill, both the air vents, on the touchpad and the back cover as well. This work through a software called Quickset, which you have already mentioned above. I am not quite sure which version of Quickset you might be using, so I would recommend you to uninstall the Quickset which you have installed and download the Quickset for Windows XP/2000 from here and for Windows Vista from here. If you are using Windows 7 or 8, I am not quite sure if Quickset will work on it or not. You can try and download the one for Vista and run it in compatibility mode to use it in Windows 7 and 8.

Once Quickset is installed, restart the computer and look for the quickset application icon at the bottom right hand corner, near the date and time. Once located, right click on it and select the XPS Gaming Interface and a window will open up just like below:

You can make the necessary changes and see if the accent lights come up. We have tested this computer with XP and Vista only. If you are using windows 7 or 8 on this computer, then am not sure if Quickset will work on it or not as that is the only application through which you can control the accent lights.

Hope this helps.
