This issue is causing due to Higher GPU temperatures. When you play a High graphics game, your GPU temperature increases gradually and after reaching to the certain temp. it stops working & freezes the laptop.
Actually, increase in 3D profile GPU voltage results in increased temperature.
Some time ago, I was having the same problem. I tried everything like updating drivers, configuring settings in NVIDIA panel etc etc. None of them worked. One day, I myself found a workaround for this problem.
You've to flash Modded Bios Version for your GPU.
I am using a modded GPU Bios which offers 0.85V 3D Voltage profile & not more than that. And hence it keeps temperature low (around 85 degrees while gaming).
I can now play any game without any freezing. PM me if you want to know more about my workaround. It will work for sure. I guarantee you..Image may be NSFW.
