Hey, regarding that overheating problem, I had the same problem with my studio 1557 with the same specs as yours up until the other day. the graphics hardware control program, ATI, that has been manufacture installed on the machine has a service prog in it called "PowerPlay". It controls the GPU performances depending on whether the computer is plugged in or not. It drains an immense amount of battery, not to mention putting a ton of load on the CPU. It is also what's primarily responsible for the overheating of your laptop. when I turned it off, it's heating up changed drastically. It's only been 3 days but my laptop hasn't overheated once or even heated up that much since then. Its also much quieter now, whereas it used to make a ton of noise before, and overheat almost every few hours. Try it, and see what happens
