The Wireless Network activity LED lights up when wireless networking is enabled. The key combination of Fn Key + F11 key enables wireless networking in the laptop.
Just to confirm – have you tried installing the drivers available at support site which are for Windows Vista 32-bit?
Also, please check if Internal WiFi is enabled in BIOS. To enter BIOS, restart the computer and tap F2 key at the Dell logo screen. Once in BIOS, use the up/down arrow key to highlight “Wireless” and press enter. Ensure the “Internal WiFi” is enabled and Wireless Hot Key is set to “Wi-Fi & BT”.
