Inspiron 1545 had options for few different wireless cards.Would you know which wireless card is installed on the system?
If you're not sure go to www.support.dell.com,enter system Service tag,click Submit,select System Configuration,find out which wireless card is installed,then select Drivers and Downloads,select Operating system(Windows XP),under Network select the appropriate wireless card,download and save the driver.
Note:Before installing the driver uninstall the existing wireless card driver,go to Device Manager,expand Network Adapters,right click wireless card,select Uninstall,put check mark for Delete driver software,click OK.
Reboot the system and reinstall the driver from the saved location.
If you need further help post back the type of wireless card installed and confirm if you were able to reinstall driver by following the above steps.
