Follow the below mentioned steps to troubleshoot the issue:
Check the functionality of the system in Safe Mode with Networking.
- Restart the computer.
- Keep tapping F8 on the Dell Logo Screen.
- Once the computer enters Advanced Boot Option, select Safe Mode with Networking.
- Press Enter.
Check if the computer is shutting down in safe mode with networking.
I would suggest the to load BIOS to defaults:
- Switch on the computer and tap F2 key to enter the BIOS.
- Once in BIOS, press F9 to load BIOS defaults.
- Press F10 to save and exit the BIOS.
Check if the system is shutting down. If the laptop is not shutting down, I suggest you to update the BIOS to the latest version and check. To update the BIOS follow the below mentioned steps:
- Visit the following website: http://dell.to/17F08dH
- Enter the Service tag of the computer in the box provided and click “Submit”.
- In the next page, click drop down arrow to select the Operating System which is installed in the computer.
- Under category BIOS, click “Get driver” and save the file on desktop.
- Run the file and restart the system.
