Hi, I've been using a Dell Inspiron N5110 from last 1 year (warranty expired last month) however I've been facing a challenge in charging my battery from last few days. The challenge is that the battery doesn't charge when connected to charger but the laptop still works on direct supply and goes off the moment there is a power cut ie the battery is not getting used neither is getting charged when connected to charger but the laptop works fine. here're some other observations
- The battery icon says "plugged in not charging"
- The battery indicator light blinks 4 times red and 1 times white
- The battery is perfect as I removed it and checked it in another Dell laptop of same model and the laptop worked with the battery
- The charger is also good as the BIOS screen is detecting the charger and it is able to run the laptop
I've already spoken with the customer care on call and the only advise they could give was to change the motherboard for this small issue. I can't pay 11000 for replacing a motherboard for this small issue and there must be a repair solution to this problem. i've found in the forums that this a very common problem with several Dell laptop models and Dell company should come forward and do something about this. Need your help please.
