Just got a new 9550 and I love the laptop. its awesome! yesterday picked up an Acer XR341CK and received a new WD15 dock that I panned on using. After about 6 hours and issue after issue after issue, I give up on it. And, after looking around in this forum, seems like the issues are widespread. I followed the instructions on the driver installation and everything.
So, is there another universal dock out there that works for the 9550? Seems like dell has some major issues with the WD15 and TB15!
Hi, i have two questions.
first: i did not find the bletooth device in this laptop, but i read on the internet, that it should be available in this model.
second and more important issue is, that the laptot is not able to connect to any network via Wi-Fi nor via cable.
It was ok in the past, but now it seems to find the wireless SSID fine and connect to it with the encryption key but it has trouble acquiring an IP address.
I am trying all wi-fi networks available in my neighbourhood and hotspot which i made from my phone and nothing works. Also as i mentioned, the connection it is not working via cable.
I have used this laptot in past also in foreign countries, for example in Vietnam or Cannada and everything worked fine.
Operation system is genuine seller - installed. Win xp service pack 3 home edition.
All other devices, like mobile phone, other laptops are able to connect to my wi-fi. So i don't think there is a problem with my Wi-fi network.

We received a shipment of E7470s and have been having some problems with them. When the BIOS is updated and the system reboots, the boot volume cannot be found, and I have to fiddle with the BIOS settings to get the laptop to boot back up again. I've never experienced this with any other BIOS update and am confused as to why it is happening. Anyone have any ideas?
I work for a small business which has a lcd display out front. To sign communicates through the telephone line with its own phone number. In an attempt to replace a Windows XP computer with a Windows 10 computer, I was hoping I could use a Dell E6400 we had. It has an rj-11 port and thus I figured it would work but I can't figure out if it should work. And if it should, how I get windows to recognize it's there.
I installed the software for the sign on the computer but it doesn't recognize that there is a modem.
I have the Dell Power Companion PW7015L (bought through my cost center from Dell retail) and a Del-issued (I work for Dell)l Latitude E7240. When I charge my Samsung Galaxy S5 phone, things work fine. The Power Companion shows 5 bars for charge level and 5 for battery health. However, when I plug in my laptop and hit the power button for the Power Companion, the "charging" indicator never comes on, and the "plugged in, not charging" icon comes on for 15-28 seconds, and then goes off (and the screen dims): apparently the batter disconnects from the laptop, or the laptop disconnects itself. If I hit the power button on the power companion, the "plugged in, not charging" icon will come back on, and then again go out after 15-28 seconds. Help! #IworkforDell.
So I have a Latitude E7040 with an Intel Dual Band Wireless AC 8260. According to the "original configuration" on Dell's support site, it states that this wireless adapter also includes Bluetooth:

However, I can't seem to get Bluetooth to work. It doesn't detect any bluetooth devices. I tried installing the Dell/Intel Bluetooth driver/update, but that didn't seem to do anything either.
I guess my questions are; does anyone else have experience with this? Should I have Bluetooth? If so, what am I doing wrong that it's not working?
I did check the BIOS, and Bluetooth does appear as an option, and it is enabled.

I bought an Inspiron 15 5000 Series (Intel(R)) - 5558 last year, and the power button seems to be locked in the pressed position. It almost does not move and I must press much harder than usual to turn the computer on.
The warrranty expires in just a few days, and I need the button to be replaced or repaired. What can I do?

New XPS15 (9550) and two new TB15 (home and office). What an exercise in futility! It has never worked properly. Different problems with home dock and office dock. Problems: external monitor does not work at all on office dock (but does work on home dock); USB does not work at all on either dock; internet/Ethernet does not work on either dock. At this point, the dock is a very expensive charger.
Is there a better solution for: 1) single HDMI external monitor; 2) usb keyboard/mouse; 3) Ethernet; and, 4) charging?
I was told that a WD15 will work better than a TB15, but seriously doubt that.
Hello, I just bought this Inspiron 7000 gaming laptop as a replacement for my old Studio XPS that *** out recently, and one of the selling points was the ability to add a hard drive in the empty bay. I threw my XPS's HDD into the slot, but then the Inspiron wouldn't boot. Removed it, booted fine. I assumed that this is because the HDD comes before the M.2 SDD in the boot order and tried to fix that, but to no avail. With the HDD removed I set the BIOS to legacy boot, but it appears that reading an M.2 slot is beyond its capabilities, because Windows just cycled "choose a boot option" over and over no matter which Hard Drive disk option I chose (there were 2, I assumed one would be the SDD). I switched the BIOS back and everything's back to being fine.
There must be some way to do this, but I'm coming up empty on searches. Does anyone have a solution?
With perfect timing, my wife's XPS12 stopped working the first day of a week long trip she is on...I'm not with her so I'm trying to troubleshoot via the phone. It only boots as far as saying there are no bootable devices and giving the options to go into the BIOS, or run diagnostics.
I have found the Dell troubleshooting link and all the diagnostics pass, with the SSD showing up ok in the diagnostics - so the next step would be to check it's physically seated ok - unfortunately I can't do that right now as I don't have the machine. Is there anything else that could be checked in the interim?

I am having major issues imaging these laptops with WDS. I have searched online and see others shave isseus also.
I have downloaded drivers from Dell, from Intel and injected in to boot image etc.
I stil get the no compatible network driver error message.
Is anyone actually successfully imaging these laptops?
Any assistance would be much appreciated! I have a load of them on the way :-(

I have a Dell Inspiron laptop which is only about a year and a half old. I am not exactly sure when it started but in the upper-middle part of the screen, there are some clusters of "flickering pixels". I've tried rebooting, restore point, updating the video drivers, the system diagnostic, the basic system restore. I don't know exactly where to go next with this issue. Any help is greatly appreciated.

I have the i7 256GB touchscreen and used to get about 6-8 hours battery life but it's declined to about 4 hours after 6 months of use. I finally contacted Dell and according to their tech, this is "normal wear and tear" and the average life span is only "a year to a year and a half". He then proceeded to install a battery management software on my system and said that my battery health is good even though the performance has dropped about 50% in less than a year! I asked to speak to a supervisor and the supervisor said that I am "lucky to be getting 3-4 hours backup battery"... I asked him to tell me where on the Dell website does it say that it should be like that and he in return asked me to tell him where on the website does it say that I should be getting more! I was so upset by the supervisor that I forgot to mention the annoying buzzing sound that has plagued my laptop since I received it. I just emailed support and hope that they can be more helpful than the tech that I spoke to on the phone.

I have two issues. the first one i have seen it in another post but i didn't see some kind of a solution. I have the latest drivers in my inspiron 7559 and i have this issues:
1) My laptop fans are awake long time after i quit any game. Especially GPU demanding games. If i press the sleep button and i wake it up again fans doesn't awake up again. This is a strange issue. i have the 1.1.7 BIOS version.
2) My laptop for some reason is getting freeze at any situation. Last 2 weeks happened 3 times. One time happened in youtube and the other 2 in EDGE browser, and i couldnt move nothing. Neither the cursor.
I dont have any other problems with my laptop. All seems to be fine. But i dont know with these issues i start to think some negatives thoughts...,

Can any one help me with Inspiron 5521 touch pad please. Whenever I open anything like browser, word it takes screen to the bottom of the page and even when I open speaker the volume goes down as well. My primary button was set as 'left' but it keeps changing to 'right'.
Kindly help me out as my day-to-day business is hampering!

Im the owner of Dell Latitude e6430.
Two days ago, I tried to reinstall my Win7 from recovery partition.
I did it before, using ctrl-F11, and everything was ok.
But this time, ive just seen "bootmgr is missing...".
I called technical support in Poland, where the guy told me that only one option, since my gyarantee is over, is to download Win10 and install it from bootable cd.
He also told me, that after this it is possible to return to Win7, using the recovery partition.
I did install Won10 and everything is fine, but i really dont like it.
So i want to return to Win7.
And this is the problem.
Recovery partition is still there with all the files on it.
But ctrl-F11 or F8 option doesnt work.
Does anybody know how to use this partition to return to Win7 in my case.

Hey everyone. I just bought a Dell Inspiron 11 3000 yesterday with Windows 10 and I'm having some connection issues. The laptop does not list any available connections, only an option for Network settings or airplane mode. When I click on change adapter options there is only Bluetooth listed but no WiFi. I also attempted using the Fn key and the command key to switch the connection on, however all this does is toggle airplane mode on and off.
I went into device manager to try and locate the Wifi driver to uninstall/reinstall, however I'm either not seeing it or it isn't there. Sorry if the question is vague, I can attempt to provide more details and any help would be greatly appreciated!
I have a dell vostro 3560. Recently I upgraded to windows 10. I tried to install drivers but had no success with wifi driver. I installed the file butwhen I go to device manager it still shows that the driver is the original one which windows had installed:
Broadcom 802.11n Network Adapter
I even tried to uninstall this driver and delete driver files and restart windows but no success.
