I have a Dell Inspiron 15R 5521 and recently the computer started shutting down after being in sleep mode for awhile. Sometimes when I restart it I get a black screen that says "media failure" a few times and a message about rebooting--that one I haven't seen in awhile so I can't recall exactly what it says. This started while I still had Windows 8 and has continued since installing and then reinstalling Windows 10. Sometimes when I restart I get a blue screen that says "Recovery. It looks like Windows didn't load correctly." Any ideas how to solve this problem? One time when I turned it back on my keyboard wouldn't work. That was alarming! Any help is appreciated! Thanks!

Inspiron 5547 laptop pops open at the right side joint while closing
I Brought Dell Laptop and after 6-8 months of use i started hearing a click sound, when i contacted dell about the same i was told that this is accidental damage and it's not covered under warranty, and was asked to pay around $160 + taxes, for which i did not agree as this is the problem with the dell, now the situation is i don't open and close the laptop it's kept in only one state, and i can see a brg crack on the right hand side just above the network port.
Not sure what to do, dell should fix this problem. i am very much disappointed with dell services. This is very much frustrating.

WiFi wont enable - just stopped working
I've got an Inspiron 11-3152 tablet/laptop, running Windows 10, and it just decided to stop having a wireless connection. I tried the obvious stuff - renabling the wifi adapter (when it was still there - it would say it was enabling but it remained disabled at the end), reinstalling the driver, and downloading and installing the drivers the Dell site suggests. All I see when I click on the lower right network indicator is Airplane mode, which I've turned on and off several times to no effect. Mouseover says Not Connected No connections Available. But of course there are. My IPAD has one.
Device Manager says the adapter is working properly, but after reinstalling the driver nothing even comes up in Network & Sharing\Change Adapter Settings except Bluetooth. Since this started, under Settings\Network & Internet there has been no Wifi option. Its like its been physically removed.
Can someone suggest something useful?

Getting VIDEO_DXGKRNL_FATAL_ERROR -BUT- ONLY at specific times
I've been getting this VIDEO_DXGKRNL_FATAL_ERROR on my Dell Inspiron 15-5558 Intel Core i7-5500U but it only occurs when I use programs which require a lot of RAM Memory and use the video card (nVIDIA Ge Force 920M). The programs I frequently use are design oriented such like AutoCAD, REVIT, 3DSMax and Civil 3D.
Sometimes I only get a message saying 'El controlador de pantalla dejó de funcionar' which translates to 'The screen controller stopped working', and my laptop just freezes and I have to wait some time till it recovers. BUT, I have had issues when my screen goes pixelated and then my laptop reboots showing the blue screen with the sad face and the video error.
What should I do? Since I bought this computer precisely because of its processor and its video card and I have these type of error messages showing from time to time when I work on either of the software mentioned above. All I know is that it's a Video Card problem
Do the video card and processor have enough capacity to run those programs? Why am I facing these issues? :'( I need my laptop for university

LCD screen
Does any one know how long does a LCD screen of laptop lasts??
For me it lasted for two and quarter years .After that a large black spot occurred and after a few weeks horizontal colored lines appeared on screen. Is this a rare case or like laptop batteries , the LCD screen too gets wearied down after a few years ??? Iam planing to buy a new screen but for that they gives a 90 days limited warranty what if the same problems appears after a few week or months after that.

I have a DELL inspiron 15 3521 laptop. when I went to lift the CMOS battery up from the battery, the black clip which holds the battery in position, broke.now the cmos battery dont stay in position.My friend said probably we should change the motherboard.but cant afford it right now. is a spare available for this?

Solved wifi problems for Dell XPS 15 9550
As so many of you fellow forum members I too have had a lot of trouble trying to get a adequately working wifi signal with the standard Broadcomm wifi card. I have tried all of the suggestions that were made on this forum and others, mainly dealing with drivers and settings. All of which mounted to no solution what so ever.
Then I came across a forum where it was suggested to replace the Broadcomm wifi card entirely, e.g. with the Intel 7265 or 8260 card. Hesistant at first, because I did not want to forfit the guarantee on the laptop, I decided to do it anyway since the measely 5 Mbps down speed the Broadcomm card maxed to really started to *** me off!!
Unfortunately the 8260 is not yet being sold where I live so I bought the 7265 and using Dell's service manual as a guide, I installed my new Intel 7265 in the wink of an eye (although attaching the antennas is a bit of a nerf wrecking job). The XPS rebooted without any problems, without me even noticing Windows 10 had immediately installed the right drivers and I was good to go! I now have a down an up speed of almost 10 (!!) times faster than with the Broadcomm card.
I am wondering if I should sent the Broadcomm card to Dell and demand a reimbursement....
Anyway, hope I have helped some of you guys, experiencing the same problems, out a bit. My advice is get the Intel 7265 and don't be afraid to install it yourself. Using the service manual it really is a walk in the park.

I cant press (like if I want to open start menu I cant )
but If I touch it I can (like if I want to open a new tab on google chrome )
I restore or (uninstall the driver) but it still the problem has

Dell xps 13 9350 win 10 not able to install windows
Dear all,
I just bought a dell xps 13 9350 and the most I can't get from it is the message below. I already searched several forums and tried different ways to solve this with command prompt or safe mode (if I run the safe mode it appears a similar message that is not possible to install the Windows).
I would be very happy if someone knows how to solve this issue. It really seems badly installed from factory, which must not happen for 1800€ Dell laptop.

Thought I'll contact tehnical support, but can't fill the form cause they say my warranty has expired. Which is not true, cause my 2 years are only up in May.

USB Mouse disconnects on Sleep
Recently bought a Dell Inspiron i7559-763BLK Gaming Laptop, nice and powerful; however, when I close the lid, which is set to put the machine to sleep, the laptop disconnects the Microsoft wireless mouse. Not always but usually. I've un-installed the USB 3.0 drivers and reinstalled, but the problem persists. Thanks, in advance, for any help.

XPS 13 Touchpad failure
I took delivery of an XPS 13 laptop about 3 months ago, which included Windows 10.
It's a dandy laptop, but on 2 occasions now the touchpad has failed completely. (I ordered the touchscreen version, which continues to work, fortunately). This is a major nuisance.
I was just wondering if anyone had any insights on how to fix this problem. Currently when this happens, I have to shut down the system completely, and restart.

Inspiron 3542 touchpad buttons not working correctly to copy/paste
Left button held to scroll and highlight text to copy, but when released, often the highlighted text is no longer highlighted. If it does stay highlighted and I press right button to access "cut-copy-paste" option, it doesn't appear and the text is no longer highlighted. Sometimes, when I finally manage to get the text to stay highlighted I can copy with control+c, then right click to paste. How to fix? I need to use this feature a lot.

E5500 will not boot
Just purchased a Latitude E5500. Upon throwing power to her, the HDD icon spun for a second or two and then the "9" light lite and all action stopped. The screen remained black. I next tried the "Fn + Pwr" trick, with the AC power off. Results were that the "A" was flashing, which I understand to mean "Memory Compatibility Error". Reseated the memory. Same result. Tried a different set of memory sticks. Same result. Decided to change out the HDD for a known good one. Same result. It should be noted that all throughout this switching components and testing, the screen has remained black! As a final test, I downloaded the "Ubuntu" ISO, burned it to DVD and attempted to run it. It was to no avail.
It should be further noted that at no time has the fan come on or even attempted to turn on. Any help in solving this mystery will be deeply appreciated as I would love to get this puppy up and running!

Pen ink on Dell Inspiron 7000 series 2-in-1
Sometime during the day today, someone used some blue pen ink my Dell's screen lid and it doesn't come off at all. I tried hand sanitizer, spit, water. I have no idea how to get it off and it's making my Dell look hideous. Is there any idea on how to remove this so my Dell can look amazing again?

My Dell Inspiron 15R 5520 screen suddenly started flickering and the screen jumps 1inch every couple of seconds and is very annoying.
My laptop Dell Inspiron 15R 5520(Core i3 2370M 6GB ram win 7 64bit) worked perfectly from Nov2012-April2016.
Now the screen started flickering and jumping since a few days and there's a white dotted line that appears along the top of the screen that starts the minute there is any kind of display.
How do I figure out if the inverter on the screen is faulty or if it's the screen cable or the whole screen itself?
To satisfy my curiosity I opened up my laptop to find that the lcd cable was badly crushed under the screen hinge (definitely , a design/manufacturing issue! Will dell take responsibility?), and each time the screen was shut/open there was substantial pressure on the cable was what I noticed.
Unfortunately I'm out of warranty and I don't know what to do.
Please advise on fixing this issue.

most of the time when I try to install , I get the message "can not install driver" because its not the right one. The wireless program R155386 is working fine except for one thing - "its complaining - "driver for adapter not installed" , so which ones the right one ? By the way Im not the first person to have had this issue, I bought this laptop second hand and its the first time I want to run the internet on it ,wireless of course !! Also I have my modem driver correctly installed and it says it is working in device manager.
